Seven weeks ago, Joe had a major surgery to repair his kidney, hernia, and remove some scar tissue, as well as doing some biopsies. All went well with the procedure, although it took much longer than expected. Joe has made good progress since then and we are anticipating a return to better health. While Joe was in the hospital for 8 days, 4 people asked Jesus Christ to be their Savior and Lord. It is an amazing privilege to be able to take the good news of the Gospel wherever we go.
Joe will be speaking at a Celebrate Recovery meeting in Linwood, NJ, on August 18th. He is also involved in volunteering at the Colony of Mercy at America’s Keswick, coming alongside the men to encourage and exhort them as they go through the program.
The ministry of Love Them To Life, the support group for mothers of children in addiction, is beginning to take off. America’s Keswick is starting a pilot program on Monday nights, beginning in September, and they have asked me (Cherri) to facilitate the group. There is also a group currently using the curriculum that meets biweekly in Pennsylvania, and the feedback has been very positive.
In October, we will be going back to one of our supporting churches in Oneonta, NY, for a follow-up time to the conference we did there in April. We are excited to see what The Lord is doing in that tiny but mighty church. We have also been invited to do a seminar in the local Christian school on identity and rejection and will possibly be speaking at Davis College in their chapel while we are in NY.
Please continue to pray for wisdom, endurance, and sensitivity to the Holy Spirit’s leading so that we may join God where He is working.
